Little River Canyon National Preserve
Little River Canyon National Preserve was established on October 21, 1992. The work began in earnest in 1995 to get the Preserve to where it is today. Little River Canyon became a National Preserve because:
(1) Little River Canyon's scenery is preserved for the enjoyment of visitors.
(2) Little River Canyon National Preserve protects and allows visitors to enjoy many natural resources including rare, endangered or threatened species, habitats and Outstanding National Resource Waters.

United States Forest Service Smokejumpers
Jumpers travel all over the country, including Alaska, to provide highly-trained, experienced firefighters and leadership for quick initial attack on wildland fires in remote areas. Fire fighting tools, food and water are dropped by parachute to the firefighters after they land near the fire, making them self-sufficient for the first 48 hours. Smokejumpers work from about June 1 through October.

Women's Rights National Historical Park
In 1848 Elizabeth Cady Stanton and four other women invited the public to the First Women's Rights Convention to discuss expanding the role of women in America. At the end of the two days, 100 people made a public commitment to work together to improve women’s quality of life. While women have achieved greater equality with the vote, property rights, and education, the revolution continues today.
